Fruits and the Far West rarely mix, at least not until the release of Wild Fruits by Endorphina. In fact, this video slot game is an original blend of the two classic themes of the genre.

Here you play the role of a bounty hunter who travels the American Far West in search of the rogue fruits that run amok among the peaceful communities scattered throughout the wilderness. This is quite a premise for a slot game, and Wild Fruits has some arguments to back it up. Let’s see if it lives up to the players’ high expectations.

Once upon a Time in the West

Wild Fruits is all about cowboys and the American Far West, which is why the game takes place in a saloon. The background, however, is rather simple, as the reels simply appear on a quasi-uniform wooden background. The saloon atmosphere is mostly created by the sound effects and the background music that plays while the reels are spinning.

Wild Fruits’ graphics are generally nothing to write home about, except perhaps for the fun, fiery animations that are triggered after each win.

Get Ready for the Chase

Moving on to the gameplay itself, Wild Thing offers several ways to personalize your experience. First, you can change the coin value by clicking on the coin value icon in the top left corner of the screen. You have a total of five reels and 50 paylines to wager on, which is a lot! Use the side tabs flanking the reels to activate as many of them as you like. Finally, you can use the up and down arrows at the bottom to set the amount you want to bet in coins.

When you are ready, hit the Spin button and cross your fingers! Winning combinations pay from left to right on an active payline. Each win can be doubled by clicking the Take Risk button and winning the mini-game that follows. Pick a more valuable card than the one the computer chose to win and get another chance to double your winnings again, and so on until you either quit or make a mistake that will make all your newly won coins disappear forever.

You can skip this step and continue betting continuously by using the Auto feature. This will keep your bet settings constant, so all you have to do is sit back and watch the action unfold.

The Wild Fruits payout table is full of fruit, mostly. No surprise there. And there are plenty of them, each more delicious-looking than the last, but don’t let that fool you: these are dangerous, wanted criminals.

In ascending order of value, you will find the apple, the cherries, the orange, the plum, the lemon, and the raspberry. The next four are worth a bit more and are the Strawberry, Grapes, Watermelon and Coconut. The last base symbol is a big yellow Seven, five of which on an active payline pay 1,000 times your bet!

New Allies to Fight Fruit Criminality

Finally, there are two more special symbols to look out for in Wild Fruits if you want to get the most out of the game. The Wild symbol can substitute for any basic symbol to create or extend winning combinations on the reels. Note that the Wild symbol cannot appear on the first reel.

The Sheriff Star is the scatter symbol in Wild Fruits. This means that it does not care about paylines: the star only appears on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reel and can trigger a reward regardless of its position. Three stars grants you ten free spins, with wild symbols added to the last four reels to make sure your experience is as rewarding as possible. The Free Spins can only be retriggered once, awarding five additional rounds under the same conditions.
