Everyone loves myths and legends filled with epic heroes triumphing over the forces of evil. From ancient civilizations to modern comic books, heroic figures are commonplace throughout human history.
The legend of the Amazons, the fierce female warriors, is one of the most famous and beloved stories of all. EGT has taken the initiative to adapt the tale into a slot game that is as ambitious as the original story. So let’s see what Amazons’ Battle has in store for us and how we can make the most of this epic creation.
Amazons’ Battle takes players into hostile territory. The game is set deep in the wilderness, in a jungle full of danger and mystery.
But the place is not without its beauty. The sky is mostly clear, and the fading light is reminiscent of twilight. On the ground, the vegetation is lush and green, with intricate foliage and roots. The rollers simply float above the landscape.
The jungle is a quiet place, no music interrupts the game, and the sound effects that are triggered after each win are discreet and rather short. Overall, Amazons’ Battle has clear aesthetic qualities, but it’s perhaps not as immersive or detailed as other EGT games like Zodiac Wheel.
The game is played on five active reels, with a maximum of 30 paylines to bet on. You can start by directing your attention to the side tabs to the left and right of the reels to select the number of paylines to activate: it can be 1, 5, 10, 20 or 30 paylines. You cannot change the number of paylines in between.
The next logical step is to select the number of coins to bet per payline. Again, there are several shortcuts at the bottom of the game screen to make your task easier. You can bet either 1, 2, 5, 10 or 20 coins per payline and again there is no other choice. Once you select your bet amount, the reels will spin immediately. As always, you can wager your last winnings by clicking on the appropriate button. Your task will then be to guess the color of a hidden card in order to double your bet. You can play multiple rounds, but remember that the first mistake you make will end the game – and your newly acquired gold.
You can also choose to play in autoplay mode by clicking on the orange button on the left. This will allow you to enjoy an uninterrupted game for as long as you wish – simply click the stop icon whenever you want to return to single spin mode.
After each win, there is a chance that the Random Jackpot Cards bonus game will be triggered. In this case, turn over the face-down cards until you get three of a kind. You win the corresponding progressive jackpot amount, the exact amount of which is displayed at the top of the screen.
There are a total of nine basic symbols on the Amazons’ Battle paytable, most of which are directly related to the game’s universe of legendary female warriors.
Let’s start with the symbols that have nothing to do with the Amazons. These slot game classics are the Jack, Queen, King and Ace in bright and sharp fonts. They don’t pay much, but their winnings can add up to a lot of money, so don’t be too quick to dismiss them.
The second half of the menu contains a ferocious-looking Tiger and four of the mighty Amazons: a brunette, a redhead, a dark-haired and a blonde. All of them look powerful and pretty awesome, each one a little more valuable than the last.
The last two reel symbols add an extra element of surprise and excitement to the game. The first is a Joker, represented by a black horse. It is a stacked symbol, which means that it only appears in groups of three in a row, potentially covering an entire reel and substituting for any basic symbol to create winning combos.
Finally, the Axe and Shield symbol is a stacked scatter that can appear on the 2nd, 3rd and 4th reels. You need seven or more of them anywhere on the screen to trigger up to 15 free spins.
Amazons’ Battle is a well-designed and fun slot game with an original and epic universe. The stacked symbols add some extra excitement to the mix, but the cash rewards are on the low side overall and you could run out of coins quickly if you are not careful enough!
