The 40 Burning Hot Video Slot is a five-reel game that uses an expanded 4×5 layout, giving it a slightly larger playing area than previous entries in the series. The reason for this is easy to see from the game’s name: this machine will have 40 paylines for players to win on, far more than the five in the original (and double the 20 in the other new release the company is also working on). The object of the game, however, remains simple: simply match identical symbols from left to right across the paylines to win prizes.

The symbols are some of the most traditional in gaming history, with fruits like oranges, lemons and cherries making up the low-value symbols. For bigger payouts, match three or more bells, watermelons or grapes. The high paying symbol is the seven, which can even earn you some cash if you get two of them in a row on the same line.

Field of Fire

So how does this machine get its fiery name? The secret lies in the wild symbols, which are four-leaf clovers. These traditional lucky charms appear on the three center reels and can substitute for any symbol to complete a winning line. But they’re even better than you think: Whenever they appear to help you win, they’ll cover the entire reel and help out on every single possible payline.

There are also two Scatters in play here, but unlike many games, they don’t trigger any special features. Instead, these two icons pay out prizes no matter where they appear on the reels. Dollar signs can appear anywhere on the screen and you’ll win prizes if you get three or more of them. Stars, on the other hand, only appear on the first, third and fifth reels; hit all three and you’ll get a pretty sizable instant prize.

The biggest payouts come from the machine’s only bonus feature: the Jackpot Card game, which can be triggered at random on any spin. In this four-stage progressive, you’ll uncover cards until you match three of the same suit, at which point you’ll be awarded the corresponding prize (Clubs is the smallest, with Spades being the top jackpot). We should also note that there is a gamble feature that allows players to risk their winnings in an attempt to double their money at the end of each winning spin by guessing the color of a randomly drawn card.

More Action, More Fun

If you’ve played the first game in this series but always wanted more action, or if you just like classic slots that still manage to offer plenty of paylines to play on, then you might want to play 40 Burning Hot.
